Armenia Mountain Snowmobile Trail
Tioga State Forest has a well maintained trail system on top of the Armenia Mountain near Canton/Blossburg, PA area.
Most riders will start on Gleason Road where there is a parking area – County Bridge Park on River Road.
During 2019 snowmobile season we had our camper parked on private land bordered by the Tioga State Forest on Church Road. We were very excited to learn from our POLARIS RIDE COMMAND app of the Armenia Mountain Snowmobile Trail system.
CONVENIENTLY located across the street from the end of the driveway!
This was a great surprise for us !
Starting each ride on the Hypocrite Trail
Our usual route :
Hypocrite Trail to Gleason Road
Gleason Road to River Road taking a left onto Fellows Creek Road
From Fellows Creek we turn right on Hemlock Rd (Fallbrook Cemetery)
Exploring Fallbrook Cemetery to Welch Mtn Road taking a left and straight across River Road to the bottom loop of the trail system taking us back to S. Fallbrook Road (Abandoned mine drainage treatment system).
The POLARIS RIDE COMMAND app is beneficial as a GPS map for snowmobile trails.

Exploring FALLBROOK CEMETERY
A short hike from the Fallbrook Road snowmobile trail there is a hidden cemetery.
The resting place of early 1800’s children who died from the “bubonic plaque and smallpox” in a coal mining town.
“In 1860, the Fallbrook Coal Company founded the town on the Fall Brook Creek. John Magee and his son Duncan had discovered some coal along the banks of the Fall Brook Creek. The Magees also constructed a railroad to connect Fall Brook with Corning, New York where the coal was transported up to the Erie Canal. By 1862, Fall Brook had a population of about 1400 people. Eventually the coal ran out, and by 1900 the town ceased to exist. “

“The smallpox raged in Fall Brook during the winter of 1871-2, and several deaths resulted. On Saturday and Sunday May 11th and 12th 1872 fire raged in the woods surrounding Fall brook, and threatened the destruction of the town. The whole population fought the fire and succeeded in arresting its progress.”

A short ride from the cemetery is another interesting find while exploring the Tioga State Forest snowmobile trail.
Riding past the PASSIVE TREATMENT SYSTEM FOR ACID MINE DRAINAGE on South Fallbrook Road & River Road.
Fall Brook Tributary – Upper Tioga River Watershed – Acid Deposition Mitigation
“In 2014, Southwestern Energy Company (SWN), through their Energy Conserving Water (ECH2O) initiative, began working with the TCCCC and our partners to address AMD pollution to the Fall Brook tributary. The treatment systems went on-line in November of 2015, restoring approximately 2 miles of Fall Brook and 3 miles of the Tioga River to conditions that support stocked trout populations. Wild Brook Trout have been seen in this section of the River as well.” – TCCCC (Tioga County Concerned Citizen Committee)
Groomed and maintained trails through DCNR and Armenia Mountain Snowmobile Club.
